Kinzer Partners Taps Jena Thornton to Build Hospitality Practice
SEATTLE, WA – Kinzer Partners today announced its first new hire of 2019, Jena Thornton.
Thornton joins Kinzer’s capital markets team to build its hospitality practice—an emerging focus for the firm that mostly represents office tenants. She brings more than 25 years in the industry, involved in over $3 billion of hotel transactions and developments in the role of owner, operator and developer.
“Jena’s experience across all aspects of the hospitality industry gives her a competitive advantage in the field that’s hard to match, and her successful deals and projects speak for themselves,” said the firm’s founder Craig Kinzer. “We are thrilled to welcome her to the Kinzer team as we continue to grow and diversify across market segments.”
After managing development for several hotel and resort companies, Thornton oversaw billions in acquisitions, development and asset management for the hotel division of Bentall Kennedy LP (formerly known as Kennedy Associates Real Estate Counsel LP) for nearly a decade. She then left the institutional real estate investment world and created Magnetic ERV, where she served as the owner, operator and developer of uniquely Pacific Northwest hotels.

Thornton is a member of Urban Land Institute and sits on its hotel development council. She is certified LEED AP by the U.S. Green Building Counsel, and received her BSBA in International Business & Marketing from American University.
